Cristina Mittermeier

Cristina Goettsch Mittermeier is one of the most influential conservation photographers of our time. Her work has been published in National Geographic, TIME, and CNN, and she was named Smithsonian Conservation Photographer of the Year. Along with her partner, Paul Nicklen, she was named one of National Geographic’s Adventurers of the Year in 2018. She’s the founder of the International League of Conservation Photographers, and co-founder of SeaLegacy, a non-profit organization that uses art, science, and conservation to protect our oceans. She was born in Mexico City and now resides on Vancouver Island.
