Russ Ellis
Dr. Russ Ellis is a celebrated sociologist. He was a professor and vice chancellor for students affairs at UC Berkeley. Since he retired in 1994, he’s become an accomplished painter and sculptor. In 2021, he released his first album, Songs from My Garden, at the age of 85. Prior to his time at UC Berkeley, Ellis was the first full-time African-American instructor at The Claremont Colleges, and a track star at UCLA.
